Role & Requirements

As part of our clients ongoing expansion and confirmed future workload, they have identified the requirement for a Surveying / Setting Out Engineer.

Candidates should have relevant experience in either earthworks / contaminated land remediation / enabling / civil engineering / construction.

A valid driving licence is essential and the role will involve a reasonable amount of travel (van to be provided for business use).

Based: The role location will be mixed between sites and offices, plus an element of home working can be included (if desired) subject to further discussion. Sites will primarily be in the south of England although further afield on occasion, and some overnight stays will be required (expenses covered). Visits to their Bristol office and Essex office will also be required.

Main Duties (training provided subject to skills and experience):

  • Use of GPS and total station equipment
  • Setting out site information to include; contaminated area extents, formation levels, proposed development layouts etc
  • Surveying of site features to include; excavation extents, stockpiles, monitoring wells, pile mats, sampling / testing locations etc
  • Use of Autocad to produce, edit and process engineering information and drawings
  • Training and supervision of other company staff to carry out interim basic setting out / surveying activities
  • Experience using LSS software for volumetric assessments would be desirable although is not essential and full training can be provided

The salary for this role is £25,000 to £40,000 per annum dependant on experience with excellent benefit programmes available.

This role is commutable from Weston-Super-Mare, Chippenham and Bath.
