They promote and support an innovative and challenging approach to designs, which exposes their design teams to current technology and methods.
They employ around 20 people and due to the size of the practice, staff are exposed to all aspects of a project, providing them with knowledge in a number of disciplines. Staff are encouraged to increase their levels of responsibility, such that they gain experience and confidence. This is supplemented by the Company’s ICE approved training agreement, enabling staff to progress their professional qualifications.
Due to an expanding workload, our clients are seeking Graduate Engineers for their Infrastructure Design team in Biggleswade. They also have a traffic and transportation team and whilst not a requirement, relevant knowledge would be considered an advantage. Work is spread across several sectors however; their busiest area is currently the residential market.
Key responsibilities and duties
·Provide engineering advice and design input from feasibility through planning and onto construction
·Produce highway and drainage designs, together with associated drawings and calculations for technical approvals and construction
·Liaise with clients and professional team members; both internal and external
·Liaise with highway and water authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other stakeholders to agree design parameters and obtain necessary approvals
·3D ground modelling to assess cut and fill quantities
·Masters or Batchelors degree in Civil Engineering
Whilst not essential, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
·Excellent written, verbal and computer-based communication skills
·Highway and drainage designs knowledge
·Appreciation of flood risk related matters and an awareness of the National Planning
·Knowledge of 3D highway design software
·Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
Salary: £21,000 to £26,000 per annum dependant on experience
