My client was established in 2004 in Guildford, Surrey. They now have offices in Guildford, London and Reading. My client provides transport planning consultancy, infrastructure design, drainage solutions, flood risk assessments and road safety engineering services. My client is looking to hire a graduate transport planner or someone with up to two years post-graduate experience in transport planning.

You will work on a number of development projects, contributing toward transport assessments & statements, travel plans and junction modelling. You will develop an extensive understanding of the development planning procedure and have the opportunity to gain technical proficiency in a number of industry essential software.

Although largely office based, visiting sites and attending meetings are also part of the job. Work will be carried out in small teams but may also involve liaising with consultants from a range of disciplines, such as town planning and architecture.

The successful candidate will be based in our Guildford office.

Job Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level – a in relevant subject: civil engineering; geography; environmental sciences/studies; town/urban planning
  • Graduate or up to two years post-graduate transport planning
  • Highly numerate and analytical mindset
  • Strong report writing ability and exceptional eye for detail
  • Effective communication skills and presentation skills
  • Experience with Excel, AutoCAD, Arcady, Picady or LinSig would be beneficial
  • Self-motivated and self-manager of time and work
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Well-presented and client focused.
